Love Me,Love Me Not,Love Me

Q:What’s the difference between I like you and I love you?

A:When you like a flower, you just pluck it.

But when you love a flower, you water it daily.

Sat looking at how my beautiful Valentine’s Day flowers are dying and withering away. Funnily enough just looking at them made me reflect on relationships and how they often start off beautiful and amazing like a fresh bunch of flowers, but overtime they can wither and die. Then We throw them away (break up) because it died, because it no longer bloomed or flourished. Then we move on to the next flower, admire its beauty, pluck it and throw that away too when that withers and dies I.e breakup again.

Any gardener can tell you that in order to keep a rose bush alive you have to nurture it, cultivate its growth, ensure its well rooted and watered regularly.

The same principle goes for relationships. If we want to keep our relationships alive we have to do the same. We have to cultivate there growth not simply throw it away when the pretty petals look dry and the novelty of its beauty what first drawn you in is withering in your eyes.

WRITING CHALLENGE

Ask yourself these questions and write down the answers:

(A) What relationships do I have whether it be family/friends/colleagues/business/romantic that are of value to me and are worth my time, energy and focus?

(B) What relationships do I have that could do with some extra TLC as they are becoming withered and dried out like an unwatered dying flower?
